Romantic Couples Photoshoot: Hokkaido, Japan

Nozomi and Masato, a lovely couple who have found love in their later years, have recently tied the knot. They share a deep passion for surfing and have built their lives around the beautiful ocean. My sister and I were in search of models to bring our creative vision to life, and that's when Nozomi and Masato applied for it. They were the perfect candidates for what we had in mind to create along the picturesque Hokkaido coast and beautiful Japan photography.

From the moment we met Nozomi and Masato, we instantly felt a warm connection. Their friendly and welcoming nature made us feel right at home, and we knew we had found the right couple to work with. They radiate a sense of maturity and wisdom that comes with living a fulfilled life, and it's truly inspiring to witness. Nozomi, not only has a love of the ocean, but she is also an incredible yoga teacher. She has a special way of creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere with her friendly and calming presence around her.

Japan Photography

I was so excited to be able to capture Nozomi in her yoga flow. The stillness of the flowers and grass behind her accentuated the softness in her expression. Simultaneously, the poses she did communicate power and strength. It was a beautiful thing to witness and be a part of. 

Their photos document the innocent and playful love they share. The clouds rolled in and cast a cool shadow along the coast. They created a nostalgic feel that brings you right into the moment with Nozomi and Masato. You can almost feel the electricity that lit up between them as they run along the shore and embrace each other. I love that so many feelings can be shared through just a simple photograph. Because it's more than that. While it may be a digital file, it's also a moment captured and frozen in time. 

Masato wore a simple white t-shirt with black shorts that complimented Nozomi’s blue jeans and fitted, neutral top. They matched the ocean in the way that simplicity spoke louder. Their outfits didn’t need to say much because their love says it all. Much like the ocean’s way of being subtle and powerful altogether.

It was so special to be able to have this photoshoot in Japan during my travels with my family. We were able to visit with loved ones and explore the beautiful country. So, being able to also share my love for photography and capture these memories for friends was an amazing opportunity. I love doing couples sessions because there is so much love in the life that is shared between a couple. But so often, we save celebrating for the big moments. When really- it's the in-between moments that we look back on and appreciate.
